Troubleshooting


1. The power supply or POE

  • This little device is used to power up the outdoor antenna and provide a network connection to the wireless router in your home.
  • It has 1 input which is the power cable (cover leaf end of the cable plugs into the POE and the Red Plug into the wall socket.

2. On the opposite end of the POE are 2 outputs:

  1. POE: The cable that is plugged into POE is always black in colour.
  2. LAN: The cable that is plugged into LAN is always grey in colour and if you follow the cable the other end will always be plugged into the internet port on the Mikrotik Wireless Router.
  • These cables should never be swapped around for any reason. If they are, it could result in damaging the wireless router in your home.

3. If the above cabling is correct and all power plugs as well as power indicator lights on the POE and the mikrotik router are on then:

  • Try switching off the power at the main plug point (Power point suppling power to the wireless system).
  • Wait for a minute so that the device can discharge and then turn the power back on.
